Michael Jacobs will be the Jewish Genealogical Society of Nashville's guest speaker (via Zoom) on Sunday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. CT.
During his presentation, “How to Preserve Your Family Treasures,” Mr. Jacobs will explain the importance of preserving our family documents, photos, textiles, and artifacts—and demonstrate the best practices for handling and storing these treasures.
Mr. Jacobs, curator at the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience (MSJE) in New Orleans, has been passionate about history since childhood. He earned his undergraduate degree in History and Museum Studies at the University of Pittsburgh and his graduate degree in Public History at The American University in Washington, D.C. He has worked at numerous archives, historical sites, and museums, including the Marine Corps University Archive at Quantico Base in Quantico, Virginia, and Gunston Hall in Mason Neck, Virginia. He has been curator of Collections and Exhibits at MSJE since July 2023.
