Community members gathered on March 30, 2026, to welcome Pastor Chris Edmonds, son of the late Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds, as Tennessee honored MSG Edmonds’ recent Medal of Honor recognition. The commemoration also highlighted his designation as Righteous Among the Nations for protecting Jewish American POWs during World War II. The event coincided with the anniversary of the March 30, 1945 liberation of the POW camp where his courageous stand took place. Attendees observed the Senate’s presentation of a Joint Resolution celebrating his enduring legacy of moral courage and leadership.
