West End Synagogue is proud to present this year’s annual fundraiser: West End Unplugged. West End Unplugged is a Nashville-style songwriter round that will feature prominent and up-and-coming songwriters from the Nashville Jewish community. The show will also include drinks, dinner catered by Goldie Shepard, and a silent auction.
This event will provide essential funding for West End Synagogue’s yearly operational expenses to power the ritual, educational, and communal roles that the Synagogue plays for its members and for the Nashville Jewish community.
The featured songwriters in this event will be Melissa Carter, Aron Rosing, Lexi Sidders, and Eitan Snyder.
Melissa Carter is a member of the country trio Due South and is a singer/songwriter whose music has been featured in film and TV shows on NBC and other outlets. In addition to her music career, Melissa is a newer toddler mom, an experience that continues to shape her perspective and creative voice.
“I’m incredibly honored to have been asked to be part of this event and grateful that I can share my passion for music in a way that supports and brings together our community,” Carter wrote.
Aron Rosing is a songwriter, producer, and the lead singer of the band ROM COM. Aron grew up in Nashville amongst the Jewish community and participated in the Get Connected program as well as Birthright. Aron’s songs have been featured in film and TV and have won numerous awards including SongTown Song of the Year and the Whiskey Jam Song of the Summer.
“As someone who was born in Nashville, I’m excited to be able to give back to this community where I was raised,” Rosing wrote.
Lexi Sidders is a country-pop artist whose music has received SiriusXM airplay on The Highway, including her single “Plead the Fifth”, reflecting growing national recognition. She has shared stages with renowned artists such as Colbie Caillat, Gavin DeGraw, Brandi Cyrus, Russell Dickerson, MacKenzie Porter, and Lindsay Ell, and has performed as the intermission band for the Nashville Predators.
”I am so honored to share my music in support of this congregation and to celebrate the Jewish community bringing us together through song,” Sidders wrote.
Eitan Snyder is a multigenre, multilingual songwriter whose songs have been highlighted in Billboard, MusicRow, Rolling Stone, and CMT. He is a former Engagement professional for the Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville, and reads Torah, Haftarah, and leads Wednesday morning minyan at West End Synagogue.
”My hope is that this event will emphasize why institutions like West End Synagogue are important in our community,” Snyder wrote. “They give us a center of gravity that brings us together in good times and bad and give us the infrastructure to support each other.”

The chair of the event, Helen Crowley, shared that this event represented an opportunity to showcase talented members of our own community.
”Whenever we have opportunities to get everyone together like this, it’s always good to do something that lets people share more of themselves with the community,” Crowley said.
West End Synagogue is hoping this event will help them hit their fundraising goals while also building and deepening relationships within its members.
”The stated goal, of course, is to raise money for our operating budget each year. But that’s only part of the story,” wrote West End Synagogue President Ben Doochin. “It’s just fun to put on an entertaining show in a casual setting with great food surrounded by friends. All of us at West End are really looking forward to this event!”
