As Nashville’s warm and welcoming Orthodox synagogue, we aim to have an inclusive, big tent community. We unapologetically support the State of Israel. That said, we otherwise avoid taking positions on political questions in our programming, preaching and communications.
We welcome all groups that offer support to the Jewish People and the State of Israel, but we take no positions on their other political activities. Israel 365 is one such organization: it advocates fervently for the State of Israel and the Jewish people. Accordingly, we have on various occasions welcomed its members as guests of our community and expect to do so in the future. However, Sherith Israel is not “partnering” with Israel 365’s weekend honoring the late Charlie Kirk who, while a committed supporter of Israel, was primarily engaged in promoting political causes. Israel365 is, in fact, renting space from our synagogue and its members will be welcome to attend our services, but their programming will be separate from our weekly programming and in no way should we be construed as partners.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Saul Strosberg
